With my windshield wipers, of all things?

My windshield wipers will turn on just fine, but when I move the stalk back to the off position, they stay on for a good 2 minutes after and shut off in random positions. Even if I just go to do one wipe, it does about 9 then usually shuts off in the middle of the windshield.

I'm guessing something's fucked in the wiring? A bad sensor in the stalk? I dunno, I'm not an electrician. I dunno how any of this works.

my mom had a Montana that did that. We replaced her wiper stalk and it was fine. I'm willing to bet anything that GM has used the same stalk for 30 years.

Or just wait for it to be the next thing recalled

Recall: 1985-2005 GMC Safari and Chevrolet Astro for a worn wiper stalk, causing the wipers not to turn off when they should.

I Inc they didn't use a breaker. My first guess is combo switch (stalk). Second guess is motor. Contacts wear out in the combo switches and do all sorts of goofy things. Park position switches in the motors wear out and they will stop at funny times.

hey at least your windshield wiper switch doesn't fail because of a flimsy contact breaking off inside and cost $212 to replace it (oh did i mention that it's it riveted together and unfix-able once you take it apart)

I love the tan interior. But then, I prefer tan/brown interiors.

There's one near me. It is the perfect color combo for me, but the opposite of what you want. White on tan leather, with chrome wheels. It has 81k miles, and the guys only asking $5000, probably b/c it's RWD.

I'm looking at it again and it looks a lot better than I remember, and that "leather" is in really great condition. I dunno if this one is a 4x4 or RWD. Only 97k though.

He says it has a Nav screen, did these have factory navigation?

No. Stalk or motor. Start with the stalk.

I believe they could be had with it, yes. Not sure if it would be useable today.

It really doesn't work. Trust me. Having GPS in a car older than about 2007/8 is really a non-thing. It doesn't make the car any worse, but it doesn't do anything for you, either.

Oh I believe it. It was just becoming a thing in mainstream cars about '07. Anything earlier was just for bragging that your car has navigation.

Your wiper's "return to base upon completion of mission" code is corrupted or missing.

Translation: It is likely the switch is bad.
